DOBLADURAS ARTWORK MARCIO PONTES COLLECTION

Part of Marcio Pontes’ Folded Acrylic Box collection, this volumetric artwork explores geometry, color and optical perception through a blend of digital fine-art printing and handmade techniques. The composition is printed on Japanese 100 g paper and manually folded into a sequence of precise vertical planes before being mounted inside a crystal-clear acrylic box. Its colorful graphics and linear elements remain visible from both sides, allowing the piece to be appreciated from multiple viewpoints.

As the viewer walks around the artwork, the folds progressively reveal and conceal different portions of the image. Cooler shades of soft and dark blue emerge from one direction, while red, orange and yellow become more prominent from another. This continuously changing display creates the illusion of movement, allowing the composition to transform according to the viewing angle. Pontes’ background in graphic design and his inspiration from Brazilian Modernism and Concrete Art are reflected in the disciplined geometry, vivid color relationships and carefully controlled optical effect.

The piece may be installed on a wall using its specially designed hanging system or displayed horizontally as a sculptural table centerpiece. Produced as a limited edition of only 10 copies, it offers a collectible and interactive visual experience.
