SMILE CHAIR - Description

Designed in 2011, the Smile Dining Chair presents a sculptural interpretation of the classic sling chair. A continuous panel of natural sole leather forms the seat and backrest, curving gently to support the body while creating a fluid, lightweight silhouette. The leather extends upward into a subtly flared back and dips through the seat, allowing its natural flexibility to provide comfort without bulky cushioning.

A slender metal frame supports the suspended leather shell while maintaining the chair’s clean, minimal appearance. Four tapered legs and precise structural lines give the design an architectural quality, while the open space beneath the backrest visually lightens the composition. Recognized for its distinctive combination of form, materials and function, the Smile Chair received the iF Product Design Award in 2012.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Dust the leather regularly with a clean, soft and dry microfiber cloth. Blot spills immediately using a clean, absorbent cloth; do not rub. For routine cleaning, wipe gently with a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Use only products specifically formulated for finished leather and test them first on an inconspicuous area. Do not use bleach, alcohol, solvents, abrasive cleaners, household detergents or excessive water.

Dust the steel frame with a separate soft microfiber cloth. If necessary, wipe it gently with a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately to help prevent spotting or oxidation. Do not use abrasive pads or metal polish. Keep the chair indoors and away from prolonged direct sunlight, excessive humidity and heat sources.
